Rob had an injury to his back, that he sustained at the age of 16,which ended his ability to play sport completely, so debilitating it was. At this time, traditional medicine was all that he considered (being guided by his parents), and so he found himself on the merry-go-round of GP’s, Anti Inflammatory, Narcotic based prescription pain medication, Orthopaedic Specialists, physios, right around the medical profession, including Chiropractors, and Osteopaths. 

 One Doctor, an Orthopaedic Surgeon, even wanted to operate on his back, "to see what was wrong", because nothing was showing up in the X Rays, and at the time, MRI's were not common.  This process continued over many years, and through this, Rob built a career in Security Management, working for some of Australia's larger Corporate companies, while still suffering chronic pain, (though he had long since given up on the pain killers, working mainly through meditation to deal with the pain) yet a general "weakness" in his lower back and spasms persisted, but he learned to tolerate this for over 18 years.  At the age of 35, Rob found someone who could actually make a difference to this pain, utilising a form of Deep Tissue massage. The pain of the treatment was incredible, but the after effect on his long-term pain he had been suffering was significant after the treatment. It was due to what was done to help him, he chose to make this his life course.  He left his corporate employment, with the salary and all the perks, and worked as a Courier to pay his way through a course, offered by the man who had been able to help him.  The simple fact that he had been able to WORK as a courier was testimony to the effects that the treatment had on his back. Over the years, Rob has also been a successful Soccer coach, from the junior ranks of “Roo Ball” (Under 6 to Under 8) up to Premier League District soccer.  This too, has helped to give him an understanding of the biomechanics of the human body, and the impact of injuries. While still needing regular maintenance (at least monthly) he was able to work and study, until he was qualified to treat others.  Still not satisfied with the knowledge he had gained, Rob started to explore other modalities of health care, all related in some way to Bodywork. He did a course in Reiki, an energy healing modality, and is now a Reiki Master, followed by relaxation massage, but was still feeling that there were areas of client’s problems he had no answer for.  This is about the time that Rob discovered Bowen Therapy.

Rob completed his Bowen Therapy course, and has since done post graduate studies in Bowen Therapy, and is involved in trials with the basics of Bowen, to try to further improve his knowledge, and enhance the services offered to clients.  While Rob never feels his learning is complete, (having completed a Diploma in Sports Injuries, and a Diploma in Sports Massage in 2006),  Rob is confident that he can deal with the majority of muscular (soft tissue) problems that come through the clinic, in addition to other problems.

2007 saw Rob invited to pass on his knowledge of Bowen Therapy, by becoming a SMART BOWEN® instructor, throughout Sydney, and the NSW area.  

Of course, as Rob well understands, there will always be a need to refer a client to different professionals for specialist care, this too, is something that Rob has learned along his journey, and will not keep you coming back for more and more and more, if it is not going to help you, but will refer you to someone qualified in the field in which you will gain the best response, be that Chiropractic, Naturopathic, Nutritional and of course in some cases, "traditional western" medicine.  One person, one company indeed, cannot be the answer to every persons, every problem, but we are delighted to have Rob on board, because in addition to being extremely effective in his known therapies, he knows also that he is not God, and cannot fix everything. 

Through his dealings in the main stream and Alternative (Complimentary) Medicine fields, Rob has built up a personal group of contacts that are professional, and very competent, at the very top of their field of expertise, and it is these people who Rob draws on to assist you on YOUR journey to better health and fitness.
